Our 2nd day with Phyllis Rose

The day started well - dog pacing all night he just could not settle got up in the early hours to take him for walk just in case. Sure enough he fell in the cut just between the boat and bank. 1st lesson learnt.

We started Tardebigge flight at 08:00am in the hope of getting somewhere near the M42 to meet one of our sons Justin. we finished the flight about 11:30ish with some paint modification number of lessons learnt here.

Then on the way through Tardebigge tunnel other boaters learning the ropes as we had with a hire boat helped us greatly in redesigning the paintwork lucky we have plenty of spare paint and a son with the knowledge to repair the days work.

We stopped for the night at Alvechurch hoping for a meal in the Crown they had stopped serving food at 14:00 just prior to our arrival. but then we learned the lesson a good walk helps prepare for a really good meal at the Queens head inn just in the village and the walk back uphill from the village.

Today Sunday hoping to get onto the Stratford on Avon Canal somewhere near Hockley Heath.
